“Outdoor Recreation and a More Inclusive Conservation Movement”

José González, the founder of Latino Outdoors, will share how cultural wayfinding and a relationship with the land can inform and guide relationships with peers and colleagues in conservation movement work. He also will show how being in right relationship with the ecological and sociocultural landscapes can lead to a more inclusive movement.

Latino Outdoors provides Latine communities with increased opportunities to access public lands, other open spaces and outdoor activities, and supports these communities in seeing themselves as a vital part of the conservation movement.

The event is free. For more information, contact Victor Thasiah at vthasiah@callutheran.edu.
