Fifty and Better Fall Four-Week Course Session

Museums of the World

From the comfort of your own home, you will visit the most famous museums in the world including the Louvre, Rijksmuseum, Hermitage and Metropolitan Museum, as well as some smaller, lesser-known gems. We will examine the history of these fabled institutions and look at some of the highlights of their collections, perhaps discovering hidden treasures along the way.

Lee Rubinstein holds dual degrees in English and history with a minor in art history from the California State University system. After years of working in the finance industry, getting her MBA and spending time in the nonprofit sector, she was lucky enough to get back to her first love — art. She has been a docent at the Getty Museum since 2012, giving in-person gallery tours to thousands of students. Additionally, during the pandemic, she gave over 300 virtual tours to museums around the country and even offered presentations to museums in Australia, England, New Zealand and Israel. She has shared her knowledge and love of art speaking at national docent conferences in Kansas City and Brisbane, Australia.

The Fifty and Better (FAB) program was designed for people 50 years of age and older, seeking intellectual stimulation through university-level courses — without the pressure of grades — for the sake of learning and social engagement.
