About Jacqueline

I received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology/Law and Society from UC Riverside.  I enrolled in the MPPA program at CLU with the objective to learn skills that will help me contribute to improving policy and being a better informed and more engaged member of our democracy.

I applied to the fellowship because first, it is an incredible opportunity that facilitates continuing my education in a field of study that will help me learn how to improve policy so that it better serves historically neglected communities. Second, to have the opportunity to participate in outreach programs. And third, to increase Latinx representation in higher education.

I am interested in studying the effects of policy and law on marginalized communities and researching what can be done to improve equity, with respect to social programs and human rights. Once I graduate with my MPPA, I hope to continue my studies, complete a doctoral program, and conduct research that supports policy improvement.
