About

Loredana Carson, Ed.D. is a Senior Adjunct Faculty member in the School of Management at California Lutheran University, where she teaches courses in leadership, talent management, and academic practices for graduate students. Her teaching and research focus on international student engagement, cross-cultural communication, and strategies that promote persistence and success in higher education.  


Due to her work experiece in human resources, she teaches multiple subjects in the Human Resources track of the MBA Program, including Introduction to Human Resources, Recruiting, and Training and Development. Dr. Carson also supervises the MBA students who are enrolled in the Internship course as a Capstone requirement.


In addition to her teaching at Cal Lutheran, Dr. Carson serves as an Instructor at the University of California, Irvine in the Division of Continuing Education where she teaches Business Communication and Strategic Planning. She is also a Consultant and Coach with the Institute for Evidence-Based Change, where she trains higher education professionals in evidence-based methods to improve student outcomes. She holds both an Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership and an M.P.P.A. in Public Policy and Administration from California Lutheran University.

Expertise

Dr. Carson's interests center on student and institutional sucess with special attention to international students and those students for whom English is a second language. She also has experrience guiding students through the research process, both for Capstone or thesis students as well as doctoral dissertations.
