Rachel Lipstone, MS, LMFT

Adjunct Faculty Member

Rachel Lipstone received her BA in psychology and her MS in counseling psychology from California Lutheran University. Rachel is licensed as an LMFT and has extensive experience working with clients with eating disorders in multiple levels of care and in a variety of age ranges, having worked at several major eating disorder treatment centers including Alsana and Center for Discovery. She also helped to establish Trellis Recovery Center, a former eating disorder treatment branch of Montare Behavioral Health, by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to outline and implement the program’s clinical philosophy and was the Lead Therapist for this program during their first year of operation. Rachel is also a guest lecturer at Venice Family Clinic, speaking annually to their clinicians about eating disorder treatment and case conceptualization.

Currently, Rachel sees clients in private practice, with a specialized focus on treating eating disorders, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and developmental trauma. Rachel utilizes her knowledge of the eating disorder treatment landscape and associated barriers to treatment to support clients in creating a plan of care that is individualized and attuned to their specific needs, including for those with chronic eating disorders. In her clinical work, Rachel works with adolescents, adults, families, and couples, and integrates systemic, skills-based, and somatic interventions to support clients in shifting distressing patterns and moving toward healing.
