About
Dr. Lory Selby joined California Lutheran University in 2014 as the Assessment Director and Lecturer in the Graduate School of Education. Dr. Selby is responsible for the oversight and coordination of all activities related to accreditation for the credential programs approved by the state teaching commission. She currently teaches Educational Research Design and Methodology and the Educational Research Project and Thesis courses.
An experienced education executive, speaker, and leadership professional, Dr. Selby spent 25 years in K-12 private school education, serving the final ten years as CEO of a K-12 school with 500+ students. During those years, she participated on numerous K-12 accreditation site visit teams as a team member and team lead. Transitioning to higher education, she served as Director of Assessment and Accreditation for Pepperdine University and taught courses in program evaluation for the Social Entrepreneurship Master's program. With her extensive background in accreditation and assessment, she now serves on the Board of Institutional Reviewers for the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Dr. Selby holds her Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University. Her research interests include organizational leadership and structure, program evaluation, and analyzing the effectiveness of assessment tools.
