Cal Lutheran Conducts Search for New Provost

THOUSAND OAKS, CA –– California Lutheran University invites inquiries, nominations and applications for the position of Provost. The new Provost is expected to be appointed early in 2006 and to begin July 1.

The Provost reports to the President and is, after the President, the principal officer of the University as well as the chief academic officer. The Provost has particular authority and responsibility for advancing the academic quality and stature of the University. He or she will provide leadership for the deans of the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business and the School of Education, for associate provost and directors, and for a large number of part–time as well as 135 full–time faculty, 30 of whom have been appointed in the last two years. The University is in the final phase of an institutional reaccreditation process and is completing a new strategic and development plan for 2014 that will focus, among other areas, on the sciences and performing arts.
