CLU Alumni Association Honors Retired Teacher

Class of 1965 member receives Service to Alma Mater Award

The California Lutheran University Alumni Association presented the 2007 Service to Alma Mater Award to Ruth Ann Johnson at the Opening Day Convocation on Aug. 28.

The Sunnyvale resident was in the Class of 1965, the second graduating class of California Lutheran College. She has served as a Class Representative since her graduation. For the past 15 years, she has been a member of the Convocation, which elects the University’s Board of Regents and represents CLU as ambassadors, recruiters and counselors.

Johnson, an elementary school teacher for 37 years before she retired, has been driven to support CLU because of the exceptional education she received from the University and the lifelong connections she made with her fellow graduates.

The Service to Alma Mater Award recognizes alumni for outstanding contributions to the life and welfare of CLU.
