Area Students Named CLU Presidential Scholars

High achievers receive scholarships and recognition

California Lutheran University welcomed 20 students to the Presidential Scholars program at the start of the 2007-2008 academic year in August.

The program, established by the University in 1997, recognizes incoming freshmen of outstanding academic caliber who embody the University’s educational and social goals. The students receive scholarships ranging from $14,500 to full tuition for four years.

CLU hosted a competition on campus in the spring at which time a selection committee of administrators and faculty carefully interviewed applicants from throughout the United States. The recipients have an average high school grade point average of 4.27 and average scores of 1325 on the critical reading and math sections of the SAT or 29 on the ACT.
