(THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Oct. 29, 2009) California Lutheran University will hold its annual International Chapel Service at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, in Samuelson Chapel.

This annual service celebrates the campus' diversity and the unity of people's faith in God. CLU has 211 international students from 37 countries enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs. The number of international students represents an 11 percent increase over last year's total. Several new countries, ranging from Iceland to Iran, are represented this year.

International students, staff and faculty will read scriptures, talk about their experiences and perform music during the service. After the service, a procession of flags from all the countries represented on campus will proceed to All Nations Plaza, where refreshments will be served.

The service is part of International Education Week in the United States. Other activities at CLU will include a World's Fair for students, a reception for international faculty, staff and administrators, and opening and closing flag ceremonies.

CLU's offices of Campus Ministry and Multicultural and International Programs are sponsoring the free International Chapel Service, which is open to the public. The chapel is located near the corner of Olsen Road and Campus Drive in Thousand Oaks.
