(WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. - June 18, 2010) California Lutheran University is expanding its Adult Degree Evening Program to Woodland Hills.

Registration is under way for people interested in earning bachelor's degrees in accounting, business management and organizational leadership. Classes will begin Aug. 30 at CLU's Woodland Hills Center, which already offers graduate programs.

With the expansion of ADEP, CLU has hired a full-time director to oversee the program. Gina La Monica starts June 21. La Monica directed the Project for Adult College Education at Los Angeles Mission College for 4 years and has helped other institutions develop similar programs. Previously, ADEP had a part-time director.

CLU's accelerated program, which is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its founding, is designed for working adults 25 and older. Most students have taken some college classes, but never finished their degrees.

The program started in fall 1985 on CLU's main campus in Thousand Oaks with about 55 students. In 2006, the program expanded to CLU's Oxnard campus. ADEP now has about 300 students and seven majors and some classes are offered online. More than 2,000 students have earned degrees through the program since its inception.

ADEP has four 11-week terms throughout the year. Each class meets one to two evenings a week. On average, students complete their degree in two and a half years.

Admission is open to people with a high school diploma or GED certificate, at least 12 transfer credit hours, substantial work experience and a cumulative GPA of at least 2.25.

The Woodland Hills program will be located at 21052 Oxnard St. For more information, visit http://callutheran.edu/adep or call (818) 888-6414 or (805) 493-3070.
