CLU welcomes 19 new faculty members

(THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Aug. 31, 2010) California Lutheran University welcomed the following 19 new faculty members at Opening Convocation on Aug. 31:

Jamie Banker is an instructor in graduate psychology. She has a bachelor's degree in human development and family studies from Colorado State University and a master's degree in marriage and family therapy from University of San Diego and is completing a doctorate in marriage and family therapy at Virginia Tech.

Jamie Bedics is an assistant professor in graduate psychology. He has a bachelor's degree in psychology from Penn State, a master's in clinical psychology from The University of Utah and a doctorate in clinical psychology from Fuller Graduate School.

Debby Chang is a lecturer in languages and cultures. She has a bachelor's degree from Northeastern University.

Morris Eagle is a distinguished educator in residence in graduate psychology. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees in clinical psychology from the City College of New York and a doctorate in clinical psychology from New York University.

Robert Fraisse is a distinguished educator in residence in the School of Education. He has a bachelor's degree in political science from University of California, Los Angeles, a master's in education from UCLA and a doctorate from University of California, Santa Barbara.

Molly George is a visiting assistant professor in criminal justice and sociology. She earned her bachelor's from the University of Denver and a master's and doctorate in sociology from UCSB.

Ralph Gomez is an assistant professor of mathematics. He earned his bachelor's in mathematics and master's in applied mathematics at University of California, Santa Cruz, and his doctorate in mathematics at the University of New Mexico.

Michael Hart is an instructor in music. He received a bachelor's in music education from Concordia College in Moorhead and master's from The University of Iowa, where he is completing a doctorate in conducting.

Gina La Monica is director of the Adult Degree Evening Program. She earned a bachelor's in kinesiology from California State University, Northridge, a master's in exercise physiology from University of Southern California and a doctorate in educational institutional management from Pepperdine University.

Patrick Ludolph is a visiting instructor in history. He completed his bachelor's in history at the University of Washington and master's in history at UCSB, where he is a doctoral candidate.

Barbara McNulty is a visiting lecturer in biology. She holds a bachelor's in biology from Lafayette College and a master's in biological sciences from The George Washington University.

Ryan Medders is a visiting instructor in communication. He earned a bachelor's in political science from Stanford University and a master's in mass communication from San Jose State University and is working to complete a doctorate in communication at UCSB.

Valerie Miller is a lecturer in theatre arts. She completed an associate's degree in fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles, a bachelor's in costume design for the theatre at the California Institute of the Arts and a master's in costume design for performance at the London College of Fashion.

Jason Penry is an assistant professor in exercise science. He completed his bachelor's and master's in biology at Wake Forest University and a doctorate in exercise sport science from Oregon State University.

George J. Petersen is the dean of the School of Education. Petersen has a bachelor's degree in cultural anthropology and a master's degree and doctorate in educational policy, organizations and leadership studies from UCSB.

Diane Rodriguez-Kiino is an assistant professor in educational leadership. She holds a bachelor's in psychology from San Diego State University and a master's in college student personnel services and a doctorate in education policy from USC.

Bryan Swig is a visiting lecturer in biology. He received his bachelor's in biology from CLU, his master's in biology at CSUN and his doctorate in biology at the University of Hull.

Carla Walter is an associate professor in marketing. She holds a bachelor's in economics from University of California, Riverside, an MBA in marketing and management from California State University, San Bernardino, and an interdisciplinary doctorate from UC Riverside.

Colleen Windham-Hughes is an instructor in religion. A graduate of Whittier College, she earned her master's in divinity at Claremont School of Theology and is a doctoral candidate at UCSB.
