CLU association hosts golf tournament

(MOORPARK, Calif. – May 24, 2012) A golf tournament to raise money for California Lutheran University student scholarships will be held on Thursday, June 14.

The CLU Community Leaders Association will host its 12th Annual Golf Tournament at Moorpark Country Club, located at 11800 Championship Drive.

There are two hole-in-one prizes, a two-year lease on a 2012 Mercedes E350 donated by Silver Star Automotive Group and $10,000 sponsored by Ernie and Jean Sandlin of Moorpark.

Registration and the range will be open from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The shotgun start is at 11 a.m. A silent auction, awards presentation and dinner will run from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

CLA was founded in 1963 to stimulate the community's interest in CLU's academic, athletic and cultural programs. Members organize fundraising and social events throughout the year to support academic programs and scholarships. The organization has provided more than $1.8 million through the years.

Rabobank, University Village Thousand Oaks, Chicago Title, Follett Higher Education Group, Keyboard Concepts, Lifeline Medical Transport, Mid Valley Properties, Sodexo, Storm-Larsen and Co., Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and Wells Fargo are tournament sponsors.

Tournament fees for the four-person scramble are $175. The price includes golf, cart, range balls, tee package, box lunch, 19th-hole festivities and a light dinner.
