2020
Lauren Mills, PsyD
Dr. Mills is a licensed clinical psychologist who joined Wellpath in 2019. She previously provided services at San Diego Central Jail, working with psychiatric patients, outpatient populations and those in need of crisis intervention. She has also provided psychological services for California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s State Prison system and the Department of State Hospitals, engaging in long term treatment as well as administering neuropsychological evaluations and competency assessments. Dr. Mills now provides oversight for the mental health programs at 24 of Wellpath's contracted county jail facilities in California.
2019
Joelle Georgeff Martino, PsyD
Joelle completed her BA, MS, and PsyD At Cal Lutheran. During her doctorate, she worked as a graduate assistant for Dr. Michael Gerson in the area of research on magic and theory of mind, which provided the groundwork for methods used in her dissertation, Physiological Responses and Gaze Patterns to Animals in Individuals Endorsing Autistic Characteristics. She completed her APA-accredited doctoral internship at the University of North Dakota student counseling center with her training funded by a Seven Generations of Excellence in Native Behavioral Health scholarship. While in North Dakota, Joelle completed rounds in behavioral health consultation and assisted in developing and presenting mindfulness training for UND staff. She also helped develop a formal workshop on stress and anxiety and presented this workshop to UND students and North Dakota educational professionals at the Professional Growth Institute Conference. Following graduation, Joelle was employed by Easterseals Southern California as a clinical assessment specialist, providing assessments to children and adults with autism and other developmental disorders. She is also developing a training curriculum on safety and risk assessment for Easterseals employees and will be collaborating on the start of a diagnostic clinic for Easterseals Southern California.
2018
Kristen Roye, PsyD
Dr. Kristen Roye received her doctorate of clinical psychology from California Lutheran University and was part of the first cohort to graduate from the PsyD program. During her time at Cal Lutheran she specialized in intimate partner violence and found a passion for attachment theory, which she used in her dissertation: Assessing Adult Attachment Using the California Q-Sort. Dr. Roye is a native resident of Ventura County and has a passion to help those struggling with mental health and substance use in her community and surrounding areas. She has worked in the mental health field for a variety of agencies including Ventura County Behavioral Health, BHC Alhambra Hospital, and Casa Pacifica. She currently works as the Director of Treatment Services for Destinations, where she works with her highly committed team to provide the community, adolescents, and their families: treatment, education, support and a sense of relief. She recently began working with Cal Lutheran to create a training program for PsyD practicum students. In addition to Destinations, Dr. Roye also works as a senior adjunct professor at Cal Lutheran and teaches in both the PsyD and Bachelor’s Degree for Professionals Programs.
2017
Ashley Ribeiro, PsyD
Ashley Ribeiro, PsyD, BCBA earned her BA in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and completed her Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Cal Lutheran. Her dissertation was titled, Interpersonal Change during Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Borderline Personality Disorder: An Evidence-Based Case Study. After graduation, Ashley began a post-doctoral fellowship at UCLA’s Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. She currently works at UCLA as a postdoctoral scholar and clinical instructor for a pioneering NIH funded autism biomarkers study. In addition to her work at UCLA, she founded her own private business and provides services as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst to young children and adults. She is also an adjunct professor of Psychology at Cal Lutheran. Ashley has satisfied all requirements for clinical psychology licensure in California.
2016
Daniel Knauss, PsyD
Dan Knauss graduated from Cal Lutheran with a BS degree in Psychology, completed the MFT degree at CalLutheran, and then was part of the 2015 graduating class of the PsyD program with a GPA of 3.99. His dissertation was titled, Heterogeneity Amongst Survivors of Intimate Partner Violence: A Typological Approach. He finished his program at an APA accredited doctoral internship at the University of Northern Arizona Campus Health Services and went on work as a staff psychologist at the University of Northern Colorado Counseling Center. He was just awarded a four year psychology fellowship at Austen Riggs Center in advanced psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychoanalytic studies. This highly respected fellowship accepts only two psychology fellows a year from the entire country. His contributions to the profession have included presentations at various peer-reviewed conferences and educational trainings.
