Cal Grants

These state-funded grants are available to students who are residents of California, have financial need as defined by the state, and who meet the academic standards in effect at the time of application. Award amounts are $9,358* for Cal Grant A and up to $11,006* for Cal Grant B.

A GPA Verification Form is required for first-time applicants. The GPA Verification Form and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be submitted by March 2 for eligibility.

If you are eligible for the Cal Grant, you need to confirm with the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) that CLU is your school of attendance in order to receive your Cal Grant. Please visit WebGrants4Students to create a login, view your Cal Grant status, and change your school to CLU, if needed (CLU School Code – 001133).

If eligible, CLU shows your Cal Grant award as an estimate in your Financial Aid Award. Eligibility is determined by CSAC and verified by CLU. If, after review, you are deemed not eligible for Cal Grant, CLU may not be able to offer you additional funds.

NOTE: Students receiving Cal Grant B Access Awards will have these funds applied to tuition and fee charges. A written request from the student to the Student Accounts Office will allow the funds to go directly to the student once all charges are paid in full. This request must be made each academic year.

Please be advised that funding is limited and may be discontinued. Award amounts are subject to change/elimination based on the State of California’s annual budgeting process.
