CESI Conference 2027

Extreme Heat and Its Impacts on Vulnerable Communities in Ventura County: Existing Challenges and Their Escalation Over Time

heat sign Ventura County cannot wait until extreme heat becomes a crisis to take action. The coming decade could bring dramatic changes that threaten public health, housing stability, economic security, and quality of life. Now is the time to understand the risks and prepare.

The risks are unequal. Low-income families, renters in inadequate housing, and older adults may have the fewest resources to protect themselves. As Ventura County’s population ages, the stakes rise. Extreme heat also compounds the risks of wildfires, power outages, flooding, and coastal erosion.

Who is most at risk, and what must Ventura County do now? CESI’s comprehensive research examines projected extreme heat across the county, identifies vulnerable communities, and explores the implications for public policy and investment.

On February 18, 2027, join CESI for the presentation of this research, an expert panel, and a community discussion focused on practical solutions.

Register for the conference, invite friends, colleagues, and community leaders, and become a sponsor. Your participation and support will help bring researchers, decision-makers, and residents together to identify priorities and advance action before the next decade’s challenges leave our communities struggling to keep up.
