Cal Lutheran Financial Aid Office Code of Conduct

The Higher Education Opportunity Act conditions the eligibility of educational institutions to participate in Title IV programs on the development of and compliance with a code of conduct prohibiting conflicts of interest for its financial aid personnel [HEOA § 487(a)(25)]. California Lutheran University’s officers, employees, student workers, and agents are required to comply with this code of conduct. The following specific provisions bring California Lutheran University into compliance with the federal law [HEOA § 487(e)].

NASFAA Ethical Principles and Standards

Through its Statement of Ethical Principles and Standards (the “Statement of Ethical Principles”) and its Code of Conduct, the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) promotes ethical behavior by its member institutions engaged in the administration of student financial aid. The Statement of Ethical Principles provides aspirational standards of ethics and represents the ideals and behavior of how financial aid administrators should function. The Code of Conduct provides mandatory enforced standards for the field and the profession.
