Board of Regents

The 35-person board of regents is the governing body at California Lutheran University. As governors of the institution, they maintain the ultimate authority in providing oversight to the university. Per California and federal non-profit law, the regents serve as “fiduciaries” of the university and must act in accordance with the fiduciary duties of care, loyalty, and obedience. Per California University Bylaws, the regents delegate both the day-to-day and the strategic oversight of the university president whom they appoint.
