Commencement Accommodations

California Lutheran University strives to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act and its amendments. The University's goal is to provide access to the celebration of the commencement ceremonies to students and guests who request accommodations.

For Graduating Students

DSS will be able to assist graduating students with accommodation needs like mobility challenges etc. for the Commencement Ceremonies. Students need to communicate to DSS about their disability related needs at least two (2) weeks prior to the ceremony to allow for sufficient time in making needed arrangements.

For Guests of Graduating Students

Guests attending the Commencement ceremonies who have disability-related needs for special seating considerations may request tickets in the Accessibility Seating Area.

Accessibility ticket requests can be made on the initial Student Information Intake Form through the Tassel portal. You may request a maximum of two guest accessibility tickets with an additional two tickets for caretakers, for a total of four accessibility tickets. If you need additional tickets for accessibility seating please email Commencementtickets@CalLutheran.edu with detailed information about your request. Cal Lutheran cannot guarantee the requested accommodation if the request is received less than two weeks prior to the ceremony.

Accessibility tickets are intended for guests with disability-related needs and one person to assist, if needed. Seats are limited in the Accessibility Seating Area, so we cannot accommodate people who are capable of sitting in the general seating section.

Guests needing tickets in the Accessibility Seating Area on the day of Commencement, must visit the Ticket Box Office in Lundring Events Center to inquire about availability. If accessibility tickets are available, guests may use the Accessibility & Reserved Seating Entrance (Regal’s Gate) to find their seats.

Please note that tickets are not needed to sit inside the Gilbert Sports and Fitness Center arena (overflow seating), where guests may watch a livestream of the ceremony while sitting inside the air-conditioned arena.
