Room Selection FAQs

On what basis are selection times given?

Selection times are awarded based on class standing. In other words, it is based on the total number of units completed, plus the units that a student has in progress (is currently registered for). Credits for future terms are not counted. If selecting with a roommate group, the group's selection time will be based on an average number of credits between all group members.

My credits/class standing are incorrect, what do I do?

Our data feeds in directly from the Registrar. If you have concerns about your total unit count, please verify with your Academic Advisor.

Can I edit my Roommate Group/Group Leader? For how Long?

Yes! Changes to roommate groups can be made in the Housing Portal until March 28, 2024. To add in a new roommate, you can search for a roommate by their username or can use roommate matching criteria to find a roommate who has similar living habits as you.

Why can't I find my roommate in the Housing Portal?

Make sure that all of your desired roommates have submitted their housing applications. If you are sure that everyone has completed their application, please verify that all group members have accurately answered the yes/no question about Gender-Inclusive Housing on the Roommate Matching Questionnaire. All roommates in a group must have the same answer to this question in order to be searchable on the roommate matching page. 

Can I remove someone from my group? After selection?

Yes, you can remove a group member from your group until March 28, 2024. If you wish to remove a group member after Room Selection, that group member needs to email and express their desire to leave the group. They will be directed to select from whichever room spaces are still available after May 1, 2024. 

When will room selection take place?

Room Selection will begin on April 8, 2024 and will continue until all applicants have the opportunity to select a room assignment. Students will be informed of their selection time the week of April 1, 2024.

How do I view my room choice after selecting?

After Room Selection, your housing assignment will appear on your Housing Portal application confirmation screen. 

What do the numbers next to my room assignment mean?

Our housing system assigns students to specific suites. Within each suite, students are assigned to specific bedrooms and bed numbers. Housing assignments are coded as follows:

Building Name - Suite Number - Bedroom Number/Bed Letter

For example:

Pederson Hall - 201 - 1A

In this example, a student is assigned to Pederson Hall, suite 201, bedroom 1, bed A. 

When are selections considered final and posted to MyCLU?

Final assignments for 2024-2025 will be posted on MyCLU on August 1, 2024.

Where/when can I view my roommates?

Roommate information will be posted on MyCLU on August 1, 2024. Your roommates' CLU email addresses will be included in case you would like to contact them.  

Will Living-Learning Community, University Themed House, and Trinity 6-Student Suite acceptances be announced before room selection?

Individuals will be notified by email of their acceptance into LLCs, Themed Houses, or 6-Student Suites by March 22, 2024. Students accepted into these communities do not need to participate in Room Selection. 

What if my desired hall is not available when it is my turn to select?

Please select an available room when it is your turn. Residence Life will release information about room changes after May 1st.. Room changes are not guaranteed and are based on res hall availability.
