Jess coordinates the daily operations and supervises student employees of the
Writing Center. She also serves as the Vice President of the Southern California Writing Centers Association.
What languages do you speak?
English (fluent), Kapampangan (can fully understand but can only speak words or phrases), and Tagalog (learning - beginner).
Where are you from? How do you identify or describe your ethnic backgrounds?
I was born and raised in the U.S. (California), but my family is from the Philippines (Pampanga province). My mom is from Guagua, and my dad is from Masantol. As such, I consider myself Filipino American.
What are your horoscope signs?
Capricorn (sun and rising), Cancer (moon).

Sushi!

What are your writing strengths or areas of expertise?
My areas of expertise in writing are mainly academic reading and writing, vocabulary, poetry, creative writing, grammar check, proof reading, report writing and paying attention to detail with respect to any type of written content.

I identify as an Indian. I was born in Portland, Oregon, but grew up in Bangalore, a city in India.

English, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada
What is the most significant educational experience you have had so far (the people, place, event, moment, etc.)?
The most significant educational experience I have had so far was when I pursued a post graduate diploma in neuropsychology. During the tenure of this course, I had the opportunity to bolster my knowledge, gain insight about neuropsychology, got exposure to practical aspects as a trainee psychologist, and most important of all, made amazing friends that I adore dearly.

I want to become a licensed clinical psychologist, conducting psychological assessments to evaluate children, adolescents, and young adults for learning and developmental disorders, such as ADHD and autism.
