Golden State Teacher Grant
Legislation updates may affect program eligibility, award sizes, and service obligation length for 2024-25.
The Golden State Teacher Grant encourages students to consider earning a teaching credential and teach in a high-need field, at a priority school, in California for either two or four years in accordance with the terms of the specific Service Agreement, within 6 years after completing their program and obtaining their credential from the date initial Golden State Teacher Grant payments are made to the institution after completing a teacher preparation program. The program is a joint effort between individual schools and the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) that will award Golden State Teacher Grant funds to eligible students enrolled in a teacher preparation. Applicants must agree to all terms and conditions of the GSTG program or be required to repay the grant.
The 24/25 GSTG application deadline is November 15, 2024.
