
Jennifer Duston
About
Jennifer Duston is a dynamic leader with more than two decades of experience in education, leadership development, and nonprofit service. A graduate of the Center for Nonprofit Leadership’s Academy and proud alum of the Ventura County Leadership Academy (VCLA), Jennifer brings a deep understanding of both community impact and organizational growth.
Jennifer served for 10 years as a school principal, leading with a focus on innovation, culture, academic excellence, and community partnerships. She currently works as a Leadership Consultant for FranklinCovey Education, one of the world’s premier leadership development organizations. In this role, she supports school systems and nonprofits across California in building leadership capacity using frameworks such as the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People® and the 4 Roles of Great Leaders®. Her unique ability to connect, support, and catalyze change has made her a sought-after partner for systems looking to strengthen their teams and elevate outcomes.
Jennifer is also the Past President of the Ventura Police Community Foundation, where she helped expand the foundation’s reach and impact through successful fundraising efforts, public engagement, and strategic planning. As a founding member of the foundation, she remains actively involved and continues to champion its mission of building community trust and supporting public safety initiatives.
A lifelong volunteer, Jennifer has served in multiple leadership roles across various Ventura County Non Profits including National Charity League Juniors of Ventura County, FTHS PFSO, VUSD Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Committee and the CTE Advisory Board. She is also active in the Ventura Chamber of Commerce.
Above all, Jennifer is passionate about empowering others to lead with purpose and leave a lasting legacy. She lives in Ventura with her husband Ryan, a fellow educator, and is the proud mom of two daughters—one a recent graduate and one a current student at the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!).
