About this event
Through the generous support of the Santa Barbara Foundation, this workshop is being offered free of charge to staff and board members of nonprofits serving communities in Santa Barbara County.
Description
Social media has become one of the most powerful—and cost-effective—tools nonprofits can use to build awareness, engage supporters, and advance their mission. But successful social media isn't about posting more often; it's about posting with purpose. This interactive virtual workshop will help nonprofit leaders develop a strategic approach to social media that aligns with organizational priorities, engages the right audiences, and delivers measurable results. Participants will explore how different social media platforms can support specific objectives, from volunteer recruitment and donor cultivation to event promotion, corporate partnerships, and talent acquisition.
Participants will learn practical strategies for creating compelling content, building an efficient content calendar, and using scheduling and analytics tools to maximize their time and impact. The workshop will also examine the role of organic versus paid social media, explore current platform trends and best practices, and demonstrate how social media can be integrated into larger fundraising and marketing campaigns. By the end of the session, attendees will have a framework for developing purposeful, mission-driven social media strategies and communicating their results to executive leadership, boards, funders, and other key stakeholders.
Learning outcomes
- Identification of goals surrounding the utilization of social media marketing for your nonprofit (i.e. recruit volunteers, attract full-time staff, engage corporate donors, cultivate individual donors or promote upcoming fundraising events)
- Clarity on the use cases for each social media platform as it relates to the objectives of your nonprofit.
- Best practices in streamlining the development, editing, and scheduling of your social media content calendar utilizing social media scheduling tools with metrics.
- Leveraging social media marketing as a component of a larger marketing or development campaign (i.e. collaborations with more highly visible creators and utilization of relevant hashtags).
- Communicating social media impact to your Executive Leadership Team, Board, corporate donors or individual donors in alignment with your nonprofit fundraising objectives and mission match.
