My name is Laura Reyes, and I’m a proud Traditional Upward Bound alumna of the Cal
Lutheran TRIO Upward Bound Program. I am a first generation student born in Northern
California and raised in Oxnard, where I graduated from Hueneme High School as a proud
Viking. My college journey took me back up north to CSU Chico, where I earned my bachelor’s
degree in criminal justice and Spanish, and later back to Southern California to complete
my Master of Science in Counseling and College Student Personnel degree at California
Lutheran University.
Today, I serve as the Academic Specialist for the Math and Science Upward Bound programs.
I love connecting with students and staff across our sites in Oxnard, Santa Paula,
Fillmore, and the South Bay of Los Angeles. It’s inspiring to see the diversity of
the communities we serve and to be part of helping students reach their academic and
personal goals.
