The CCEI ChangeMaker Retreat was first held in Fall 2024, bringing together student leaders from eight CCEI-affiliated student organizations and the Center for Global Engagement to launch a new tradition of leadership development and collaboration. Since then, the retreat has served as an opportunity for student leaders to come together before the academic year begins to build community, strengthen collaboration, and prepare for a successful year ahead. Designed for leaders of the CCEI's formally affiliated student organizations, the retreat creates space for students to connect across organizations, exchange ideas, and develop the skills needed to lead with confidence and purpose.
Whether you are stepping into a leadership role for the first time or returning with previous experience, the ChangeMaker Retreat is designed to help you feel prepared, supported, and connected. Through interactive workshops, collaborative planning sessions, and leadership development experiences, participants gain practical tools they can apply throughout the academic year while building lasting relationships with fellow student leaders.
Rather than working in isolation, the retreat encourages student organizations to think collectively about how they can contribute to a more engaged, inclusive, and connected campus community. By sharing ideas, identifying opportunities for collaboration, and learning from one another's experiences, participants begin the year with a stronger network of peers and a shared commitment to creating meaningful impact at Cal Lutheran.
