The Social Construction of Digital Nomadism: A Critical Discourse Analysis

This research, presented by Russell Stockard, Ph.D., investigates how digital nomads and society construct the location-independent lifestyle and the racial and ethnic identity of these remote workers. Additionally, the investigation explores how Caribbean small island states and Latin American countries responded to reduced tourism by promoting digital nomadism. The primary method used is critical discourse analysis, which is the critical study of written or spoken language in relation to its social context. It aims to understand how language is used in real-life situations (Luo, 2010).
