Eligibility
Summer session is open to any current or incoming Cal Lutheran students, as well as visiting students from other colleges and universities, and non-degree seeking students.
Current students can take courses during the summer session to stay on track for graduation and lighten their course load for the following academic year.
As an incoming freshman or transfer student, you can take courses before your first semester in the fall and get a jump-start on fulfilling your requirements, meet new friends before the school years starts, make connections with faculty and staff, and get to know the campus.
If you are not a Cal Lutheran student but would like to take one or more courses while on summer break, you may apply for admission as a non-degree seeking student. This means you will receive credit for the courses you take, but will not officially be considered a full-time Cal Lutheran student.
Summer session is not a requirement; however it may be useful to ensure graduation within four years. Core curriculum classes have been added to the summer session to help students get ahead and some are able to finish early.

There will be a mix of online and in-person courses offered. Please see the "Location" field in the Course List. If it is "TBA," then a decision is still pending. In-person courses will not be available virtually.
