Cal Lutheran School of Management Honors MPPA Alumni

At a recent event at President John Nunes, the university presented its 2025 alumni awards. Two of the four awards went to alumni of our MPPA program - Angelina Hayling and Samantha Stewart. Angelina is a 2008 graduate of the MPPA program. While at CLU, she engaged in coursework and impactful internships with humanitarian organizations such as the American Red Cross and the International Rescue Committee. Angelina then co-founded Island Tribe, a sustainable fashion and wellness brand committed to fostering a global community through fair-trade partnerships with local artisans and ethical suppliers from Bali, India and Mexico. She also curates exclusive wellness retreats in Bali, Grenada, and California. Angelina also is the author of the Amazon bestseller, Resilience Through Yoga, Self-Discovery and Healing. Samantha, a 2015 alumna of the MPPA program, has dedicated her life and career to ensuring children with disabilities feel valued. As an Adapted Physical Education Specialist and PE teacher in the Conejo Valley Unified School District, Stewart brings together students with and without disabilities to compete on unified teams at sporting events. She also was Head Coach and Head of Delegation for several unified teams in the Special Olympics, including a bowling team—dubbed 2 Legit 2 Split—a track and field team, and a gold medal-winning golf team. Among her many accolades, Samantha most recently was named National Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year in 2023 by the Society of Health and Physical Educators. She also was named a Conejo Valley Unified School District Inclusion Hero.
