Cal Lutheran's Hub101 Hosts Annual New Venture Fair

On May 7, we held our annual New Venture Fair (NVF). Sixty-five teams from high school to undergraduate to graduate students (including three teams from Cal State Channel Islands and a 6-year old guest competitor!) competed over a large number of cash prizes in different categories. Not to toot our own horn, but thanks to Mike Panesis, Kristin Bell, and Desserin Pereyra at Hub101 as well as student workers / student volunteers / alumni volunteers Ava Pacifici, Elaine Vo, and Zach Dunn plus our volunteer judges from the Central Coast startup community, the NVF keeps getting better every year. With about 400 people at the event, there was tangible excitement and energy in the room, and it was so good to see entrepreneurship having become such an important element of what we do at the School of Management. If you're interested to see how the entire afternoon at the NVF played out, here is an amazing time laps video on Mike Panesis's LinkedIn.
